TalentDesk

Connection guide

Use TalentDesk in ChatGPT and Claude

Ask your AI assistant about your jobs, candidates and clients, and let it do the busywork. Nothing is sent to a candidate or client until you confirm it.

What you can ask

TalentDesk works with the jobs, candidates, clients and pipeline your agency keeps in Bullhorn or JobAdder. Ask in plain English, for example:

  • 1Who fits the site manager job?The deep shortlist: the best candidates in your database for the job's criteria, with what each one meets and misses.
  • 2Find me forklift drivers near Parramatta.A search of your candidate database by role, skills, employer or location.
  • 3Draft an email to Priya about Thursday's interview.A draft in your own Outlook, for you to check and send.
  • 4Submit Sam to Acme for the project engineer role. The anonymised submission pack and cover email, sent only after you confirm.
  • 5Move him to interview and add a note. The stage moves straight away, in TalentDesk and in your CRM. The note is added once you confirm it.

Add TalentDesk to ChatGPT

This takes about three minutes, once. You need ChatGPT on the web with a Pro, Plus, Business, Enterprise or Education account; Developer mode is not on Free or in the phone app.

  • 1Turn on Developer modeIn ChatGPT, open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode. On a Business or Enterprise workspace an admin may need to allow it first.
  • 2Create the TalentDesk appOn chatgpt.com/plugins, select + and create an app for a remote MCP server. Paste https://talentdesk.com.au/mcp as the server URL and choose OAuth.
  • 3Sign inSign in with your TalentDesk login and approve access.
  • 4Switch it on in a chatStart a new chat, open the + menu, choose Developer mode and tick TalentDesk. A new chat starts with it off.

Add TalentDesk to Claude

This works on claude.ai and the Claude desktop app. On a Team or Enterprise plan an Owner adds it once for everyone: Organization settings, then Connectors, then Add, Custom, Web.

  • 1Add the connectorIn Claude, go to Customize, then Connectors. Select +, then Add custom connector. Name it TalentDesk and paste https://talentdesk.com.au/mcp.
  • 2Sign inSelect Connect, sign in with your TalentDesk login and approve access.
  • 3Switch it on in a chatIn a chat, select +, choose Connectors and switch TalentDesk on. Each conversation has its own switch.

You stay in control

Sending an email or a submission pack, adding a CRM note, booking an interview, shortlisting candidates onto a job and saving a placement are shown to you first, and happen only when you confirm them.

Moving a candidate to any stage, including shortlisted or submitted, updates your CRM as soon as you ask, and so do updates inside TalentDesk such as marking someone screened. ChatGPT and Claude can also ask you before each TalentDesk action; you choose that in the app's own settings.

Your assistant sees only what you can see in TalentDesk: your jobs, or your team's or agency's, depending on your role.

A workspace owner can put the whole workspace in test mode, where emails go to a test address instead of candidates and clients, and CRM changes are simulated.

What your assistant sees

Each answer carries only what the question needs. By default, candidate and client-contact names are shortened to a first name and last initial, email addresses and phone numbers are masked (an email keeps its first letter and domain, a phone number its start and last two digits), candidate pay comes in bands, locations stop at city and state, and CV text and note bodies are held back. A shortlist does quote short lines from a candidate's CV as evidence, with the candidate's own name shortened.

Full data for one app (full names, contact details, CV text and notes) needs a workspace owner or admin to turn on full-data mode in TalentDesk Settings, then AI access, confirm the AI provider does not keep the data, and approve that app. Viewers never receive full data.

TalentDesk keeps an audit log of the actions an assistant runs. How data is handled is set out in the privacy policy at talentdesk.com.au/privacy.

When TalentDesk adds features

In ChatGPT, open chatgpt.com/plugins, choose TalentDesk and select Refresh. That picks up new features and keeps your connection; there is no need to remove it and add it again.

In Claude, new features appear when you start a new conversation. If one is still missing, disconnect TalentDesk in Customize, then Connectors, and connect it again.

If your assistant is missing a newer TalentDesk feature, TalentDesk tells it so, and it names the step for you.

Switching it off

Turn TalentDesk off in a single chat or disconnect it in the app's own settings. In TalentDesk Settings, then AI access, you can also switch off your own app (every role except Viewer), and a workspace owner can switch off a teammate's. Access stops at once.
